Worst Vehicles for the Environment in 2009

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) recently published its Greenest Vehicles of 2009 list and the CNG-powered Honda Civic GX tops the list. The organization also looked at some of the most un-eco-friendly vehicles that we will find on the roads this year. This list was published as the “Meanest Vehicles for the Environment in 2009″.

The Hummer H2 FFV tops the list with a Green Score of 16. The scores range from zero to 100 and the Honda Civic GX scored a 57 and the average score is 30. The other vehicles making this notorious list are:

Lamborghini Murcielago - Green Score: 18
GMC Yukon 2500 - Green Score: 18
Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG - Green Score: 19
Maybach 57S/62S - Green Score: 19
Lincoln Navigator FFV - Green Score: 19
GMC Sierra K2500 - Green Score: 19
Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG - Green Score: 20
Jeep Grand Cherokee - Green Score: 20
Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab - Green Score: 20
Chevrolet SuburbanK1500 - Green Score: 20
Ford F-250 - Green Score: 20

Okay so we are not likely to see a plethora of Murcielagos and Maybachs on the streets but the Yukon, Suburban, F250, Grand Cherokee and Ram 2500 are popular vehicles.
