Renault Z.E. Concept Debuts at Paris Motor Show

It is official; the 2008 Paris Motor Show is underway. Renault has announced its plans for its newest concept, the Renault Z.E. Concept. Z.E. stands for Zero Emissions; the Z.E. Concept is an electric vehicle that runs on a lithium-ion battery base and is expected to have a 70 kW engine producing 226 Nm of torque.
“Based on the brand new Renault Kangoo be bop, Z.E. Concept features a design which has been adapted to match the spirit of an electric vehicle, with the focus on minimizing energy consumption while at the same time providing core comfort features.†(Source: Renault)
Renault has created several alliances with countries around the world and even the State of Tennessee in order to further its electric vehicle technology. Understanding the fact that auxiliary equipment like air conditioning, lighting, etc can zap an electric vehicle’s power, Renault is focusing on minimizing the impact that these functions have on the cars overall power usage.
