Plug-in Toyota Prius Trial in the United Kingdom

Yes, the lucky Brits are the recipients of another plug-in trial. Last week, I posted the Electric Smart Fortwo Being Road Tested in the UK and today I’m adding a plug-in Toyota Prius trial that has recently launched. Toyota has collaborated with EDG Energy to road test a plug-in version of the Toyota Prius in the United Kingdom. The trial is expected to last for a year and will likely culminate with a broader plan for plug-in Prii releases around the world.

EDF Energy is a British energy company that focuses on sustainable energy. From the EDF Energy website, “Our targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions represent one of the biggest packages of environmental initiatives launched by any major British company.”
