Pennsylvania Residents Eligible for Hybrid Rebates

Governor Edward G. Rendell of Pennsylvania is reminding the citizens of Pennsylvania that there are still $500 rebates available for those that have purchased (or plan to purchase) a hybrid vehicle. As long as one of the eligible hybrid vehicles was purchased in the past six months, the consumer can apply to receive the $500 rebate; a total of $1 million was set aside to be used as an incentive for consumers to look at greening up their ride.
This rebate is not valid on just any ole hybrid; the paltry fuel efficiency of the Cadillac Escalade does not pass muster.
“Rebates will be provided only for purchasing the cleanest and most fuel-efficient hybrid vehicles. In order to qualify, the total city and highway miles per gallon ratings as measured by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency must meet or exceed 55 mpg. The hybrid vehicle must also have a carbon footprint of less than 7.0-tons-per-year of carbon dioxide as accounted by http://www.fueleconomy.gov/.†(Source: PR Newswire)
As of November 1, only the following hybrid models are eligible for this $500 rebate:
2008 Models: Toyota Prius, Honda Civic, Nissan Altima, Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, Mercury Mariner, Toyota Camry, Saturn VUE Hybrid, Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid, Saturn Aura Hybrid
2009 Models: Toyota Camry, Toyota Prius, Honda Civic, Nissan Altima, Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, Mercury Mariner, Chevy Malibu Hybrid, Saturn Aura Hybrid, Saturn Vue Hybrid
