More on the Nissan Denki Cube Electric Vehicle

A few weeks ago, I posted about the Nissan EV-02 which was being tested by a Times Online website writer. The vehicle is part of Nissan’s Green Program 2010 (NGP 2010) which is “designed to fulfill Nissan’s environmental philosophy of “symbiosis of people, vehicles and nature†and contribute to a sustainable mobile society. NGP 2010 is specifically focused on reducing CO2 emissions both from Nissan products as well as from day-to-day corporate activities.†(Source: Nissan/Infiniti News Room)
The Nissan Denki “Cube†electric vehicle concept car may just be the car that will meet the NGP 2010’s mission to have a hybrid vehicle launched in 2010. The Denki “Cube†will feature an electric motor utilizing lithium-ion battery technology. Al Castignetti of Nissan North America, Inc had this to say on Nissan’s use of lithium-ion batteries:
“Nissan first had an electric vehicle in the road in 1947 and has been field-testing lithium-ion batteries for more than ten years,†said Castignetti. “Our ongoing goal is to dramatically enhance future battery performance while reducing battery costs.†(Source: Nissan/Infiniti News Room)
