May is National EcoDriving Month

If you don’t have a hybrid, and don’t have a new one in your budget, don’t fret. You can still drive more efficiently and reduce your greenhouse gas emissions by becoming an EcoDriver.

“In partnership with EcoDrivingUSA, we are raising awareness about how to become EcoDrivers,” Philippe said. “Race car drivers need to practice EcoDriving too because a race can be won or lost on the track by saving fuel. I apply that same principle when I’m on the road. To do our own part, we are working to make our team carbon neutral this year. It’s a big challenge, but the goal is to make sure that we can try to offset our carbon footprint.” (Source: PR Newswire)

Using cruise control on the highway, observing the speed limit, straying under 60 mph, and driving at a steady speed on traffic-light controlled roads can all help you to improve your fuel efficiency. The press release states that if you can use cruise control for 10,000 miles each year, you could save more than 60 gallons of fuel on an annual basis.
