Kelley Blue Book was founded in 1926 by Les Kelley; the Blue Book of Motor Car Values featured list price as well as cash value on thousands of vehicles.  Since its inception, the Kelley Blue Book (KBB) has been the most respected automobile valuation guide in the industry.  Understanding that Americans are looking to green up their driving, KBB has recently launched the KBB Green website.

In a news announcement on the KBB Green website, the company states that their mission is “to reach beyond soundbites and sensational predictions about the future of the automobile and our environment to deliver information that you can rely on to make decisions in your everyday life.”

Site Features
The motto of the new website is “Going Beyond the Rhetoric to Deliver Real Answers.”  A few of the features that will appear on the site include the pros and cons of alternative fuel technologies and discussions about global warming.  To launch the site, the company has created the KBB Green:  Top 10 Green Cars list.

Topping KBB Green’s list of the top 10 green cars of 2008 is the Toyota Prius – surprise!  Others that made the list are the Honda Civic Hybrid, Smart Fortwo, Nissan Altima Hybrid, MINI Cooper, Ford Escape Hybrid, Honda Fit, Mercedes-Benz E320 BlueTEC, Toyota Highlander Hybrid and the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid.

10 Diesel Cars to Love
In addition to the top 10 green cars of 2008, the new KBB Green website has published a list of “The 10 Cars that will Change Your Mind About Diesel.”  The following vehicles made this list:  2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel, 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI, 2009 Audi Q7 3.0 TDI, 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML320 BlueTEC, 2009 BMW 335d, 2010 Acura TSX i-DTEC, 2010 Toyota Sequoia, 2010 Ford F-150, 2010 Chevrolet Silverado and the Audi R8 TDI Le Mans Concept.
