Green Ride and Drive in Detroit

The North American International Auto Show officially kicks off tomorrow in Detroit. The show has been beleaguered by cancellations and scale backs but it is still poised to be a success. Eco-friendly vehicle fans that attend the show will be able to participate in the green ride and drive event sponsored by Michigan’s Economic Development Corp.

“Auto show organizers have set aside a 70,000-square-foot test track inside Michigan Hall, Cobo Center’s lower level, for the MEDC EcoXperience.

About a dozen vehicles will be available to journalists to drive during the auto show’s press preview, and consumers will be able to ride in the cars during public show days.” (Source: Automotive News)

For those of you with visions of zooming around the test track in your favorite eco friendly vehicle, I have a bit of disappointing news to share with you. The track speed limit is 10 miles-per-hour and will be strictly enforced.
