Extreme Hybrid SUV Boasts 150mpg

The world has seen the hybrid vehicle already. It, of course, offers better gas mileage for drivers and less carbon emissions. What the world has yet to see is the extreme hybrid. The extreme hybrid will offer even more to the eco friendly driver than any of its predecessors have managed.
AFS Trinity Power Corp. has released its plans to produce an extreme hybrid. The SUV XH-150 boasts fuel efficiency to the tune of 150mpg. That is amazing for a vehicle, let alone when that vehicle is an SUV. The extreme hybrid will change the face of sports utility vehicles.
The reason AFS Trinity Power Corp. is able to produce an SUV with such high fuel efficiency is due to the electric capabilities of the vehicle. Their SUV will stay in electric mode up to 40mph. That means that fuel will rarely be burned at all when driving in town where speed limits are set at 25 or 30mpg. A driver who only uses the vehicle for in town driving could stay in full electric mode all of the time.
This plug in hybrid boasts being the first kind in its class. Up until this point, a plug in hybrid could not go up to 40mph in full electric mode. Typically, a plug in hybrid will switch out of electric mode after building up just a little speed.
The extreme SUV also has some power behind it. It can go from 0-60 in 6.9 seconds, so it has just enough behind it to keep everyone happy. This vehicle would work for those who want a green car and those who want a functional SUV. The reason this SUV can go so fast in such a short amount of time is thanks to its use of ultracapacitors. They give short bursts of energy to the battery pack and allow the vehicle to go faster than a typical electric car.
The technology used for this extreme hybrid allows the battery pack to be small and manageable. The style of this vehicle is sporty and efficient. In fact, without the labels indicating that it is an extreme hybrid, people would not realize that it was not just another stylish SUV on the road.
Besides mileage and style, the extreme SUV offers drivers choices. Drivers do not have to use the all electric mode if they do not desire. They can switch to a full gas electric hybrid mode and get around 68mpg. The mild hybrid mode gives drivers 30mpg, which is still much better than a standard SUV. By giving the driver options, the driver can decide if fuel economy or power is more important to them.
AFS Trinity Power Corp. has indicated that their extreme hybrid will be available to the public in about three years. In that time, they plan on investing even more time and money into their concept in order to make it the best vehicle their technology can offer. No word has been released on the price of this vehicle as of yet.
