2009 Silverado Hybrid: Masculine Fuel Economy

Have you been getting funny looks when you’ve been going hunting with the guys? It seems that the gun rack just doesn’t fit too well on top of the Prius, does it? If you’re dealing with some internal conflict because you want to be environmentally friendly, but you still want to look tough and cool in front of your friends, look no further than right here. Soon you can have it all in a big tough package that even the most rugged of the guys will appreciate. And your gun rack will not look out of place atop this masculine piece of machinery.
At the end of 2008, Chevrolet is set to begin selling its full sized hybrid truck that is said to be the most fuel efficient full sized truck in production. Chevrolet’s Silverado Hybrid boasts a city fuel economy that is improved by 40%, while overall fuel economy is 25% higher than the non hybrid Silverado. That means fewer trips to the gas station between hunting and camping trips.
Chevrolet has created a hybrid system that works in different modes to create the best driving experience while still being mindful of the environment. The first driving mode of the 2009 Silverado Hybrid occurs at low speeds. When a driver takes off and begins to go at a low speed with a light load, the Silverado Hybrid can run in electric power, engine power, or a combination of the two. Full electric power can only occur for the first couple of miles, as long as the truck stays below thirty miles per hour. After that, the Silverado Hybrid will run with either engine power or electric and engine power. During highway driving or while pulling a large load, the Silverado Hybrid will go into mode two. Mode two allows for electric assist with four or eight cylinder power, depending on the needs at the time. In other words, the Silverado Hybrid works with the driver to get both fuel economy and power, so all the necessary functions will be covered at all times.
The Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid has taken General Motors technology to the next level. It uses both the 2-Mode Hybrid System along with a 6.0L gas V-8. The V-8 allows drivers to have the power associated with a truck, while the hybrid system controls fuel consumption and the carbon emissions that hurt the environment.
The Silverado Hybrid is just as functional as any full sized truck, and it is roomy as well. You can pull a boat with it, or go out mudding with your friends. The Silverado Hybrid will be able to handle a beating and keep going.
If you want to be rugged and environmental at the same time, the Silverado Hybrid is the way to go. It looks like a powerful truck and behaves like a powerful truck, but it is kind to the environment. It’s the best way to look tough in front of your friends and good to your wife at the same time.

Good find, Amy. Lets see if this one makes it to market.
A V8 engine hybird? I suppose it is a good compromise between power and fuel efficiency.
The Chevy Silverado Hybrid might sell well. But i think GM can still do better.
Looks like a winner. Finally a practical hybrid.
